Nicola Yoon, who also wrote the bestselling Everything, Everything, was in Singapore recently for the 2019 Singapore Writers Festival. Along with her daughter and husband David Yoon, author of young adult novel, Frankly In Love, Nicola flew in from New York for a meet-and-greet as well as a screening of the film version of The Sun Is Also a Star. The film, which starred actors Yara Shahidi as Natasha and Charles Melton as Daniel was as engaging, touching, as it was beautifully shot. Afterwards, we were treated to an hour with Nicola herself, who delighted the audience with her candid thoughts on writing, love, and life.
